This year for Saint Patrick's Day, we decided to celebrate the holiday in Butte, Montana! Butte is infamously known for throwing one hell of a St. Patty's day party. I think that this is because there are a lot of Irish in Butte. Marcy and I made sweatshirts for the occasion. Her's read, "Shake Your Shamrocks" and mine said, "Who's Your Paddy?" On the back, she was hooligan #1 and I'm hooligan #2. We drank green beer, did irish gigs in the streets,Sunday, March 22, 2009

The Jack
The Lumberjack. The name alone says enough about this bar. Located deep in the wilderness outside a little town called Lolo, MT, this bar is the epiphany of a what one would expect from a Montana bar. The front door is built into a tree. The entire place is made out of wood, don't you dare light a cig in this place. The decorations include chainsaws, stuffed jack rabbits, pictures of local logging heros. The highlight of "The Jack" is a swing seat built at right up at the bar. So fun! Who knew that a playground favorite would be a hit at a bar. However, strategically placed in front of the swing seat is a bell. A bell that as you swing in
the seat is screaming at you, "reach up and ring me!" I was lucky enough to have been warned of the bells true meaning before my first visit to the Jack. The person who rings this bell has just volunteered to buy the entire bar a round. Very trick Lumberjacks! Marcy and I put on some good country tunes (from a jukebox!) and began to show the locals how us city girls can swing dance. There was pool, great beer, and our group of friends out numbered the locals. It was overall a great first experience of the Jack!Friday, February 20, 2009
Senior Challenge and Girl Talk

Yesterday was a big day for me. I had the kickoff party to the Senior Challenge campaign. I am the Chair of this year's campaign. The Senior Challenge is a fundraising campaign focused on the current class of Seniors. Its a great program that raises awareness of philanthropy while helping create funds for the University of Montana. Some people really don't get/like it. They feel that they have paid tuition for the past 4 years, and can't believe that we are asking for more money. These people clearly don't understand what the program does. They can designate the money the donate to any school or program that they would like to see do well. They way I see it is that someone is always going to be asking for your help and support. If you are able to help out others, why not? I'm excited to see how the rest of the campaign goes. The kickoff party to the campaign was last night at the Press Box. We had free drinks and appetizers. There was a pretty good turn out. More to come on the Senior Challenge.
After the kickoff party. I went to the boy's basketball game. We lost to Weber, who I think is #1 in the big sky conference. After the basketball game I went to one of the more fun concerts I have ever been to. It was a DJ called Girl Talk. He was AMAZING. He mixes lots of hip hop and other familiar songs together. Its great. I was really dancing up a storm! Its had to describe. You should check out his myspace. Pretty solid Thursday night. I, however, felt quite hung over all day today.

Valentine's Day 2009

This Valentine's Day, I did not have a "special someone" to spend my day with. So instead, I got with a few of my girl friends and painted the town red (pun not intended).
We started the night having a few mixed drinks at my friend Rachel's house. Then the night took us to the most random/crazy party. It was located in a bike shop. ??? They pushed all the bikes back, had a bubble machine, and techno "house" music playing by a DJ by the name of "Bike Doctor". Haha, kids where raving and dancing super crazy. It was unlike an party I had ever been to in Missoula.
We didn't stay at the bike party for very long, a little to far out there for us. We continued our night bar hopping downtown. It was a really fun night with the girls. I didn't feel sad that I wasn't with a guy, because a bunch of girls doing shots to SINGLE AND READY TO MINGLE to much more fun for me right now then a stuffy dinner and a movie date.
Forester's Ball 2009

So a few weekends ago I went to my third Forester's ball. I missed my sophomore year. Forester's ball is a dance/event the the College of Forestry puts on every year. This year was the 92nd forester's ball. It is a huge party! The convert the gym into a forestry town, complete with a jail, giant slide, dance floor with a country band playing, and a booth to get married at. Mostly everyone is really drunk. I really enjoy my experience this year. I dress in my flannel and logging boots. This is definitely only a party you would find in Montana, but it is fantastic. In fact the party made playboy's top 10 parties in the 80s.

Back to School

So, it was back to school this week. I discovered that I have Senioritis (sp?) bad! I didn't even want to be in any of my classes. My classes are...
Management 420 - Leadership and Motivation
This class is ok... I think its going to be a lot of outside class work. We are focuses on Philanthropy a lot, which I already know lots from my jobs.
Communication Studies 250 - Intro to Rhetoric Theory
I have never taken an online class before and I have no idea what I'm doing. The class itself shouldn't be very hard, but figuring out this online business is kicking my butt
Management 402 and 403 - Entertainment Management
This classes meet every Wednesday and every other Friday/Saturday. The teacher is gone this week so our classes where actually canceled (which I celebrated!)
And there you have it. My hardly intense, yet can pull myself out of bed school schedule for MY LAST SEMESTER OF COLLEGE!!!
I'm also working a whole lot! Almost 38 hours a week. I am kind of understanding what it might feel like to have a "big girl" job.
More to come....

Winter Break Wrap Up
I am back in Missoula! Its nice to be back.
Home was fun. I went to lunch with my girlfriends from high school one day. That was nice to check up with them. I went to a few "get togethers" with the mexican mafia!
Now I'm back in Missoula and back to work. I am working on a big marketing archiving project. Its pretty tedious, but its really helping my boss out. I love having an office. Its makes me feel all grown up (as lame as that is). I have a window with a beautiful view of the Business Building (GBB).
My job searching efforts continue. I am struggling. Such a crappy time to be graduating. My fingers are crossed that the economy shapes up in the next 5 months!
