Spring Break 09 - Day 2 3.27

First actual day in Panama City Beach. We got a ride from a very nice, generous business man who, in fact, paid for our $30 ride. We were a little skeptical at first, but the taxi looked legit. Just a nice guy doing a nice thing (and money to burn). We got all checked into our hotel, Casa Loma (a Best Western). And then we decided our first drink of spring break was WAY over due! So we walked (in the rain) to the closest bar. Little did we know that this bar, The Red Door Saloon, would be our favorite bar of the whole trip. The locals and bartenders welcome the drenched, obvious tourists into the establishment. We got pizza (cheese because it was Friday) and beer, and the bartenders fell in love with Montana girls. Drinks were free. Bound to get on the beach we left The Red Door and put our swimming suits. We in the rain and wind frolicked in the gulf. Even though it was a double red flag (meaning whatever you do, don't get in the water!!!). We continued to have a pool party (just the two of us). Including cannon balls, swan dives, and Marco Polo. Because it was Friday night, and we were in crazy party mode, we decided we were going to hit up one of the big clubs that night, Club La Vela. We put on our party pants and hit the club with goals of dancing till it hurts. It was fun, until Marcy innocently made the mistake of handing a boy her drink for TWO seconds. We were instantly kicked out. Which ended up working out fine, because we were both tired from all the traveling. That concluded day one!

Spring Break 09 - Day 1

Seeking a very cliche last spring, my good friend Marcy and I decided to take a trip to Panama City Beach, Florida. Pre-SB, I spent my days counting the hours till I was on a beach and googling tips, fun clubs, and photos of other spring breakers. The day finally came. Marcy and I drove down to my hometown of Blackfoot, Idaho and my mother generously drove us to the airport in Salt Lake City, Utah. We caught the plane to Denver which was experiencing a huge blizzard. This was real stressful, so our first plan of action once we landed was to get a drink on the layover, even if it was a $10 bloody mary. To much disappointment, every single shop was closed, except McDonalds. No such thing as a McTini. We settled for $7 happy meals. Caught our flight to Atlanta, Georgia. Small layover there; very very early in the morning. We were so tired and excited at the same time that it made everything funny. I mean everything. Boarded our last flight to Panama City, or so we thought. Apparently there was a huge storm hovering just above our designation. We had to go land in Valdosta, GA for way longer than we wanted to. Bored, tired, and really ready to just be there our patience grew thin as the pilot said the storm had cleared and we could reboard the plane. The next plane ride was so rough. Marcy and I both got sick. Our little plane was getting shaken like a maraca. We miraculously made it! WE ARRIVED!!!

New Car!

I got a new car! Its a 2003 Volkswagen Passat Wagon. My dad, grandpa and I found this little gem in Provo, UT. It was a great deal. I'm super excited to have new wheels. Its a very "mature" looking new car. Some have called me "soccer mom" and asked if we can pick up the kids and get groceries in my new car. But I do not care, I love the new ride!
