Spring Break 09 - Day 2 3.27
First actual day in Panama City Beach. We got a ride from a very nice, generous business man who, in fact, paid for our $30 ride. We were a little skeptical at first, but the taxi looked legit. Just a nice guy doing a nice thing (and money to burn). We got all checked into our hotel, Casa Loma (a Best Western). And then we decided our first drink of spring break was WAY over due! So we walked (in the rain) to the closest bar. Little did we know that this bar, The Red Door Saloon, would be our favorite bar of the whole trip. The locals and bartenders welcome the drenched, obvious tourists into the establishment. We got pizza (cheese because it was Friday) and beer, and the bartenders fell in love with Montana girls. Drinks were free. Bound to get on the beach we left The Red Door and put our swimming suits. We in the rain and wind frolicked in the gulf. Even though it was a double red flag (meaning whatever you do, don't get in the water!!!). We continued to have a pool party (just the two of us). Including cannon balls, swan dives, and Marco Polo. Because it was Friday night, and we were in crazy party mode, we decided we were going to hit up one of the big clubs that night, Club La Vela. We put on our party pants and hit the club with goals of dancing till it hurts. It was fun, until Marcy innocently made the mistake of handing a boy her drink for TWO seconds. We were instantly kicked out. Which ended up working out fine, because we were both tired from all the traveling. That concluded day one!
