The Bachelorette Finale

Warning - FINALE SPOILER (If you for some reason haven't watched it yet).

I have a confession to make. I am completely and utterly addicted to a television show. I sold my soul to ABC’s The Bachelorette (and The Bachelor). Tonight was the season finale, which I have been counting down the weeks till this night for months now.

For those of you not familiar with the show, the pick a Bachelorette (or Bachelor) and then eligible men for her to pick from and in the end hopefully get purposed to. Sounds unrealistic and cheesy, but I’m hopelessly devoted to this show.

Tonight Jillian (the bachelorette) had the competition narrowed down to her top two men. Ed and Kiptyn. On a very romantic set in Hawaii, she had to go out on absolutely beautiful dates with both men and the end of the episode pick the one that she wanted to marry, sounds tough right?

After sadly telling Kiptyn that she did not want to be with him, Jillian was then surprised by Reid the man that she let go last episode (i.e. third place). He came back to tell her how stupid he was for not letting her know how much he loved her when he had the chance. I was heartbroken when after he purposed to her, she still had to say no luck and send him away AGAIN. I was a real big fan of Reid.

Finally Ed arrived and she had decided to accept his proposal for marriage! It showed the two “happily in love” and then roll credits.

Now, here are my thoughts on the show… I love the idea that this is real, but there is no way the situation that they put these people into is real life at all. I think that the feeling that they develop are real, but the situation of falling in love and marrying someone in a matter of two months, all while dating other guys at the same time is just unrealistic. Plus all these dates that they go on are what normal people have to work years in advance to go on. However, I would gladly accept an invitation to be the next Bachelorette (if you are reading this ABC).

With the right setting, the right amount of alcohol, and the competitive drive anyone can fall in love. I do wish the best for them though, don’t get me wrong. Do I think they’ll last, eh… no. But prove this naysayer wrong please. I also feel that the show is genuine in its efforts to find the Bachelor or Bachelorette their true love.

For those of you out there that also share this obsession, your thoughts please!

Favorite Little Spot

This is my favorite place that I've encountered thus far on my Seattle life. Maybe you've hear of it? The Pike's Place Market!!

This famous market is so much fun. There is tons to see and purchase, four floors to be exact. And mostly everything is reasonably priced. It is also home to the VERY FIRST Starbucks!

My favorite spot in the Pike's Place is the fish market. They entertain the crowd by throwing the fish that is ordered to the men who will then wrap them up for you to carry home. Very fun!

My View

This is the view from my window at my new apartment in Seattle. Its actually a bit closer than the picture portrays it to be.

Beautiful Mount Rainier, in all its glory. It also is a little easier to see when there isn't this tad bit of overcast.

This Mountain had a delicious and very classy beer named after it. As you may have guessed, this malt beverage is Rainier Beer.

Huge Weekend

It was a crazy weekend. Starting with Friday, it was my brother Nate’s birthday. His friends and I helped him celebrate his 20th birthday to the extreme. It was a very (un)memorable birthday for him.

Saturday I drove down to Bear Lake to boat and watch little brother Sean play in a baseball tournament. The boating was unsuccessful due to keys being left back in Blackfoot and Sean’s team took second place!

Sunday, the day I have been waiting for ever since I moved home had finally come. It was the day that I moved to Seattle! It was a very long drive, but my Dad, Mom, Sean, and a trailer full of my “stuff” (what Dad was calling it is a little less nice) made it!

Monday we spent the day touring Seattle. We went to the Pike’s place market, checked out the Space Needle, and went on a tour know as “Ride the Duck”. It was a real blast. We ate fresh seafood at a restaurant on a pier, which was delicious.

My family took off, and I stayed to unload my millions of boxes. My first event to work at is this Saturday. I am very excited!

Adria's Wedding

On Saturday was my good friend Adria's wedding. She wed the most perfect man, Thomas Parkhill. They are the definition of an "in love" couple. They are both so lucky to have found each other. I am just so excited for the both of them.

The wedding took place in Adria's home town, Kalispell, Montana. So this meant another trip back to the treasure state. Well worth the drive. I wouldn't have missed it. She was such a beautiful bride. I burst into, rather loud, tears the second her and her dad walked out. I was trying to breathe quietly (not an easy task) and Melana laughed at me the whole time. The ceremony was outside and gorgeous.

The reception followed the ceremony. It was held in a beautifully decorated tent filled with family and friends. Famous Dave's (an old employer of mine) catered the event.

This is Melana and I with all the beautiful bridesmaids. It was quite the good looking wedding party. I love all these girls so much. Since I didn't make the cut for bridesmaid, some decided I was the guest of honor. Haha!

Adria, the beautiful bride, Melana, and me. Isn't she breathe taking? I just love her. Don't mind my sweaty bangs. I was really busting some moves on the dance floor previous to this picture.

Marcy and I on the dance floor, which is really our prime location. We taught little girls how to to "Get Silly" and "Pop, Lock, and Drop It". Mothers beware. We may have danced the slow songs together. We weren't about to sit any dances out on the account that we didn't have anyone to dance with.

Fourth of July

Still “living” in Blackfoot, ID, I was able to spend the Fourth of July Holiday with my family. This was the first time since 2006! Family reunion plans were made way in advance for this holiday weekend. My mother’s side of the family (Bischoff) were going to get together in Elko, Nevada. Friday morning we loaded up in the family car and headed south!

We stopped at the Shoshone Falls in Twin Falls for a touristy visit. The Snake River is the fullest it’s ever been and the waterfalls were incredible.

We arrived in hot Elko and were greeted by family, food, and drinks! The remainder of the night was spent catching up!

Saturday, bright and early, we had a tee time at the Elko golf course at 7:30 am. 14 of the family went. I was the only girl. It was 18 holes of pure fun! My foursome was with my dad and two uncles, Frank and Jamie. I think I am really improving every time I play. My game is coming along swimmingly. I was able to hang with the big boys!

Later that night we barbequed, watched the fireworks, and had a dance party (coordinated by yours truly), basically your typical Independence Day activities. My family is great. It was a lot of fun to spend the weekend with them!
